Routine Gynecologic visits are also known as Well Women Exams or Annual exam. These are appointments for preventive care for any women. They are performed once a year and the goal is to identify risk factors (if any) and modify them so we can decrease the risk for other conditions or complications.
Includes: screening test for sexual transmitted infection for certain age groups and/or high risk population, complete physical exam, pelvic exam, breast examination, Pap Smear, assessment of your weight; these identify risk for Diabetes or Hypertension, Coronary Artery disease, Identified need for life-style changes if Smoking, Alcohol or Drug use, Immunization update and or advice, Depression screening, etc.
In-office procedures are performed every day and mostly take 15-20 minutes. , they just need to be scheduled ahead of time. Such procedures include Intrauterine device insertion or removal, Nexplanon insertion or removal, Sonohysterogram, Colposcopy or LEEP procedure, Vulvar Biopsy, Incision and Drainage of Bartholin cyst, etc.

Dr. Hurtado will evaluate you and perform the necessary tests and provide you with the most up-to-date STI guidelines and treatments for any condition you may have. There are some conditions like herpes that cannot be cured but you still can received treatment to allow suppression and decrease the number of outbreaks you can have.

Dr. Veronica Hurtado is well-trained in minimal invasive surgeries. Laparoscopy approach is preferred whenever possible so the patient due to faster recovery time, less postsurgical pain, incisions are smaller and the amount of controlled substance or narcotics prescribed for the patient are also minimal. If this is not possible, an open surgery may be necessary. Dr. Hurtado has the skills and experience in performing all general gynecologic surgeries: Hysterectomy, Myomectomy, Pelvic Floor Reconstruction, Stress Urinary Incontinence Procedure, Permanent sterilization, Ovarian Cyst, Ectopic Pregnancy, Hysteroscopy, Endometrial Ablation, Dilation and Curettage, etc.
